Mike Abbott

Mike has attended the Parish Church continuously since moving to Midhurst with his wife, Chrissy in 1977 and has been in the Church of England all of his life. After studying at the London School of Economics, he pursued a career in local government and the charity sector, acquiring further degrees part-time. He became a Reader in 2000 and completed an MA in Theology in 2012. On retirement in 2014 he walked the 500 mile medieval pilgrimage walk to Santiago de Compostella in Spain. He is very interested in the Celtic and the Eastern orthodox Christian traditions. Mike and Chrissy founded the Midhurst Foodbank in 2014 and organised and led it for five years thereafter. They have been married since 1972 and have three adult sons and five grandchildren.
