Marcus Collie
The Reverend Marcus Collie

My family and I are really delighted to have joined you here in Midhurst. As we settle into the community here I would like to thank you for the many kindnesses and most generous welcome we have received from so many people - thank you! A bit about us - well - I was born and bred overseas, first coming to this country back in the 1980's in Port Talbot, South Wales. Initially educated at Cardiff University, where I read Medical Biochemistry, I eventually ended up working in the financial services industry - for several years right here in Sussex. Whilst at Cardiff I met my wife, Linda, and the stage was set for the arrival of Ellie and William, who are now both teenagers. Linda works in Portsmouth, having several clinical and leadership roles in the NHS. I came to faith, and subsequently to ministry, a little later in life and you might therefore be delighted to learn that much Christian practice is still novel for me! I delight in the fact that there is always something new to learn and look forward to exploring with you what it means to be a Christian here. How do we continue to build the community of faith together and what might God have in store for us next? Much is changing in the world, and it might seem a little scary at times, but in many ways the parish church is the sanctuary: the place where we can spend time away from the bustle of the world. The church is here for you - so both if you are very familiar or if you are new to our wonderful buildings and the communities they serve - please do come along and spend some time with us.
