We are really pleased to be offering church services using the video conferencing software zoom during the period of time when people are isolated and confined to their homes.
Zoom works very much like Skype or FaceTime. There are various ways that you can use zoom…
On your Apple iphone/ipad – go to the AppStore and search zoom download the one that says ‘zoom cloud meetings’. Once downloaded open the app. It will give you the options to join a meeting, sign in or sign up. I would suggest that you sign up, but you don’t have to. Just before the time of the meeting, you can just hit join a meeting. When you do, you will need to enter a meeting ID which you will have been sent in an email.
On your Android phone or tablet – exactly as above but through the Google Play store.
On your PC/Laptop/kindlefire etc – either click on the link in the email that you’ve been sent by the church, or go to https://zoom.us/ and click ‘Join a meeting’ at the top. Enter the meeting ID that was in the email. It will instruct you to download the app and sign up. However, if you don’t want to do that, another option to access the meeting through your browser should appear.
Each Sunday we are offering the opportunity to join in a service at 10am followed by ‘virtual coffee time’ – this is an opportunity for the various people attending to appear on the feed and to say hello to everyone else. It has proven to be a really good way of keeping a sense of community even though we can’t physically be present with each other. If you would like to join in please send us an email so that we can send you a link. Email firstname.lastname@example.org
In order that you can join in with the service you will need to download the service sheet relating to the service below.
